Internet Explorer 8.1 Eagle Eyes

Has Internet Explorer finally caught up with the world? So much that they may even take back the market share that they have lost over the past few months to Mozilla.

Well the next version on IE8 is codenamed Eagle Eyes because it seems to do exactly that . With new features such as a server-side code decompiler and the ability to use most of the Mozilla Add-Ons, this release seems to be a step above the rest.... only its not going to happen.

IE 8.1 is a April Fools joke sent out by Smashing Magazine... but I must say, they really had me going there. I got really excited by the news until I got to the decompiler part and started laughing outloud (but crying inside).

Maybe IE can try to steal Mozilla's plug-ins one day but until then we can keep wishing.

Happy April Fools
